About the Event
The West Midlands Brass Bands Association is delighted to present a full-day Glyn & Helen Williams Masterclass on Sunday 11th January 2026, hosted at Tally Ho! Conference Centre, Birmingham.

This is a unique opportunity to spend the day learning from two of the most respected names in the brass band world, right here in the Midlands.


Who is it for?
This masterclass is ideal for:

  • Brass band players of all ages and abilities

  • Students and developing players looking to improve technique and confidence

  • Experienced players wanting fresh ideas and inspiration

  • Conductors, tutors and band trainers who want to observe and learn

Under-16s are very welcome but must be accompanied by a responsible adult (playing or non-playing).


What to Expect
Across the day, Glyn & Helen will share their expertise, experience and passion for brass banding through a mixture of:

  • Group coaching and practical playing sessions

  • Work on sound, technique, breathing and musicality

  • Ensemble and band-style rehearsals

  • Advice on practice, performance and preparation

  • Q&A opportunities to ask your own questions

The focus of the day is on accessible, enjoyable and inspiring music-making, with plenty of practical tips you can take back to your own band.

We’re proud to be working in partnership with Adams Musical Instruments for this event. There will be opportunities during the day to find out more about their instruments and support for brass bands.

  • 📍 Venue: Tally Ho! Conference Centre, 329 Pershore Rd, Birmingham B5 7RY

  • 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Under-16s: Must attend with a responsible adult

  • 🎺 What to bring: Instrument, mute(s) if you use them, a music stand if you have one, and anything you normally use in rehearsal
