About the Championships

The Midlands Area Brass Band Championships are a cornerstone of the brass banding calendar, bringing together ensembles from across the region to compete for musical excellence and a place at the prestigious National Finals.

Each year, over 80 bands from across the Midlands take to the contest stage in five sections — Championship, First, Second, Third, and Fourth — performing test pieces set nationally by the British Open Brass Band Championships organisers.

This event is one of eight regional qualifiers held across the UK and forms a vital part of the banding pathway for players of all ages and abilities.

Entry Information for Bands

Band registration and contest administration is managed via Kapitol Promotions Ltd.
All participating bands must be registered with their respective brass band associations and comply with contesting rules set by Kapitol.
