Each year, over 80 bands from across the Midlands take to the contest stage in five sections — Championship, First, Second, Third, and Fourth — performing test pieces set nationally by the British Open Brass Band Championships organisers. This event is one of eight regional qualifiers held across the UK and forms a vital part of the banding pathway for players of all ages and abilities.
